I must the admit the “rap game” is overly saturated, especially in the DMV. Its hard to seperate the real from the fake. And with so many artists from “D”, and “M”…you begin to wonder when will “V” stand up and make noise. Well ponder no longer.
Meet: Locke Kaushal
What seperates Locke Kaushal from his peers is the fact that he’s not even a “rapper” per say, but a spoken word artist. He himself will tell you that he wasn’t “inspired” by hip-hop…but rather “influenced”
Unlike some MC’s whose foundation is battling, or written tracks…his is writing poetry. This gives him a smooth edge when it comes to “gettin’ on a beat”
BUT I’m not gonna syce anymore, check him out yourself.
His first mixtape dropped a couple months ago:
“The Prologue: The Story Before The Story”

ALSO peep the MySpace and Follow him on Twitter
